Seven sections along the tunnel route were selected to study the squeezing and water inflow hazards and their degree of occurrence using various previously reported techniques. Ring beams, rock bolts and fibre mortar shotcrete were used for primary ground support under high cover. The geotechnical characteristics of the rock masses were evaluated based on laboratory and field investigations to assess the geological hazards along the tunnel route. Tunnelling was carried out using three TBMs from Robbins, namely Kamila, Selpah and Tiara Midori. The tunnel will convey 1.89 million litres of raw water daily from Sungai Semantan in Pahang to the Hulu Langat WTP in Selangor. Water, sewerage, storm water, electrical, telephone, fiber optic and other utility mains and distribution systems may require excavation, rerouting. The upper and lower ends were excavated by New Austria Tunnelling Method (NATM). It has the capacity to discharge 27.6m³ of raw water per second.Ĭonstruction works involved excavation using tunnel boring machines (TBM) for 35km, while the remaining length was excavated by conventional drilling-and-blasting or by cut-and-cover. The 44.6km-long, 5.23m-diameter tunnel starts at Karak, Pahang, running deep under the ground up to 1,200m below the Titiwangsa mountain range and hot springs. Outlet structures in Selangor will transfer the water to the new treatment plant. Water to the tunnel will be supplied through an 858m-long inlet conduit structure and pumping station located in the Pahang River Basin. The WTP, to be built with an estimated investment of RM3.74bn (approximately $1.16bn), will have a capacity of 1,200 million litres per day. The later part of the project will involve the construction of Langat 2 water treatment plant (WTP) in Hulu Langat and a distribution system downstream. Construction of a pumping station, dual water pipelines, access roads and a telemetry system are also part of the project. The components of the RM2.48bn (approximately $766.87m) PSWT project include a transfer tunnel, 35m-high Kelau Dam with an effective capacity of 299 million cubic meters and the Semantan intake facility. The Angola WTP supplies water from Xangongo to Ondjiva, located in the province of Cunene in southern Angola. The project was financed through a loan provided by Japan International Cooperation Agency. Japanese companies Shimizu Corporation and Nishimatsu formed a joint-venture (JV) with local companies IJM and UEM Builders to excavate the tunnel. The water tunnel is being built as part of the Pahang Selangor Raw Water Transfer (PSWT) project aimed at supplying raw water from the River Semantan to the states of Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan. What really annoys me is that Layout is always almost there but these simple finishes are never done, release after release. ![]() I find these kind of Feature requests are easilly lost in these forums, but this kind of discussion is key for implementing a simple yet robust architectural system of accuratelly representing standard info from a model that already has it all in it’s geometry. I also have FRs somewhere about pavement/roof gradient tags, about area tags and Layout+Sketchup teams should pair up and find ways of implementing all kind of standard architectural tags that can be directly retrieved from a Sketchup model. The current topic is about a height tool for elevations, but if Z coordinates of a point would be retriavable and related to a datum that is valid per model, then elevation tags could be created for elevations and also plans. Isolating X, or Y or Z would serve us well for many things, but in architecture Z info is key. I don’t think that it was in this forum though… I’ve also asked for this feature before, when the Auto text label feature was implemented. Z coordinates are therefore already retrievable from the model even if, right now, they can’t be isolated automatically from X and Y. This model information is a XYZ coordinate system. We are now able to retrieve point information from a Sketchup model already. It just seemed that seting up dimensions that would use some kind of Sketchup model 3D datum, would be a clever aproach that would derive directly from the 3D model. Well, I wasn’t aware of how that ordinate system worked. I mean current LO interface is so simple and easy to use/learn so is it really necessary to introduce some deeper level of abstraction like UCS etc?Īs for me I like the initial idea of linear tool enhancement and/or new tool creation. You can understand this process better with the image below: (I used to do this workflow in cad too, but cad isn’t 3D but a CAD elevation isn’t aware of it’s space coordinates… a sketchup model is so something should adress this issue properly.) I use the dimensions values for heights.I then manually change text for every one of this sets so I create my standard height leaders. Then I place 2 elements in each level, at the right spot in the drawing, a triangle pointing down and a text (I used to group them but editing the text was harder).I usually establish a set of dimensions that go from level 0 into the several levels of my projects.I couldn’t but I’ll show my results in the hope you might adapt them: So I was thinking on adapting my standard workflow to a dimension leader that would graphically emulate what I do. I just need the height value from a vertex but that’s impossible to get automatically from auto text leaders. I’m figuring out workflows for extracting height leaders from sketchup drawings. ![]() ![]() Indicates that the video should start playing as soon as it’s loaded. There are currently three video formats supported by the HTML5 specification:ĭifferent browsers support a combination of all or some of the three formats due to varying reasons, one being patent laws. However, the Traveler was apparently unwilling to allow this outcome, and responded by leaving the planet and fleeing into the distant reaches of space. They set out to locate and retrieve the Veil, and brought it back to their homeworld so that they could form a link between it and the Traveler. In order to achieve their goal, the civilization determined that they needed to bring the Traveler and the Veil into close proximity, strengthening their connection and in so doing granting them the ability to alter reality itself. ![]() In this, they found the purpose they had sought for so long. In studying the Darkness, they discovered that it held the means to guide the universe into a perfected, eternal form, a " Final Shape" that would last to the end of time and beyond. They named this entity the Veil, and determined that it was a source of power that was the opposite of the Light, one linked to the mind and consciousness rather than the physical world: the Darkness. In their studies of the Traveler, they also came to view the Light as a fundamentally capricious and chaotic force, equally capable of bringing life or death with no ultimate justification for either.Īt some point, the species discovered that the Traveler had a counterpart entity, located in a distant star system. As a result, the society began to crave meaning, and sought to find something that would bring order and purpose to an otherwise open-ended existence. This brought about a golden age for the species that lasted millions of years.Īlthough the Traveler brought the civilization great prosperity, it never made any attempt to communicate or impart wisdom or guidance. It then awakened, either of its own accord or as a result of the species' actions, and proceeded to terraform the planet and bestow paracausal gifts to its discoverers, much as it would later do with many other species. In one of her messages to the Guardian through Sloane, Ahsa makes reference to " two halves of a whole, long divided," which in context seems to suggest that the Traveler and the Veil were once part of a single entity, or at least share a common origin.Īccording to Ahsa, billions of years ago the Traveler lay dormant and half-buried on a desolate planet, where it was discovered by a humanoid species. Fenchurch Everis claims to have been inside the Traveler, but no one has been able to confirm the veracity of his story. The interior workings of the Traveler remain a mystery. Its outer shell is made of lead, neutronium and "electroweak matter", the latter based on a fundamental force that hasn't existed since the dawn of time.
